Family Stewardship & Lifestyle
Stewarding Wealth, Strengthening Family
At Clexperus, we believe wealth is more than financial assets - it's an enduring legacy rooted in your family’s values, traditions, and aspirations. Our Family Stewardship & Lifestyle services proactively guide your family in transforming financial success into meaningful, lasting impact, nurturing family unity and purpose across generations.
The non-financial infrastructure of your family's life — risk management, privacy, property, lifestyle, and the coordination services that protect what matters most.
Wealth Creates Complexity That Lives Outside the Portfolio
A well-managed investment portfolio is necessary but not sufficient. For UHNW families, wealth generates a second layer of complexity that is entirely non-financial but equally important: multiple properties, household staff, privacy and security risks, complex insurance needs, digital assets, and the relentless administrative demands of a multi-dimensional lifestyle.
This is the work that falls through the cracks between financial advisors and estate attorneys — the coordination of everything that doesn't fit on a brokerage statement but is critically important to how a family lives, operates, and protects what it has built.
Family Stewardship at Clexperus fills this gap. We coordinate the risk management, insurance, privacy, property, and lifestyle infrastructure that protects and supports UHNW families — serving as the family's Chief Stewardship Officer when the complexity demands it.
Comprehensive Stewardship for UHNW Families
Risk Management & Insurance
We coordinate a comprehensive HNW insurance review covering personal liability umbrella (high limit), homeowner and property policies for multiple residences, collectibles and fine art, cyber liability, disability income, long-term care, and life insurance structure review. We work alongside insurance specialists — not as underwriters, but as the advisor who ensures nothing is uninsured, underinsured, or misstructured.
Privacy & Personal Security
UHNW families face elevated exposure to cyber threats, targeted fraud, reputational risks, and physical security considerations. We coordinate with cybersecurity specialists, privacy counsel, and personal security consultants to establish protocols appropriate to each family's profile and lifestyle.
Property & Household Coordination
Multiple residences, complex maintenance schedules, household staffing, and major renovations all require a coordinating hand. We help families build the systems and vendor networks that keep physical assets and household operations running seamlessly.
Family CFO Services
Bill pay coordination, cash flow management, entity bookkeeping oversight, family financial reporting, and advisor fee management — the administrative backbone of a family's financial life, coordinated and consolidated in one place.
Digital Asset Stewardship
Cryptocurrencies, digital accounts, online business interests, and other digital property require specific planning under RUFADAA (Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act). We help families document, plan for, and ensure proper access and succession for digital assets.
HNW Insurance: The Coverage Most Advisors Miss
Standard homeowner, auto, and life insurance policies are designed for mass-market consumers — not for families with multiple properties, significant personal property, concentrated investment risk, and heightened liability exposure. We coordinate a comprehensive HNW insurance review across every line.
Personal Liability Umbrella
Standard $1M policies are inadequate for UHNW families. We review umbrella coverage levels (typically $5M–$25M+) and ensure the policy coordinates properly with underlying auto and homeowner policies. Gaps in coordination can render umbrella coverage ineffective exactly when you need it.
High-Value Property & Multiple Residences
Standard homeowner policies cap replacement coverage at levels that leave UHNW homes significantly underinsured. We coordinate inland marine floaters, scheduled personal property riders, agreed value coverage, and loss-of-use provisions appropriate to each property.
Collectibles, Fine Art & Valuables
Art, jewelry, wine, antiques, and collectibles require separate scheduled policies with agreed value, worldwide coverage, and breakage clauses. We coordinate with specialist insurers (Chubb Masterpiece, AXA Art, Berkley One) and ensure appraisals are current and documented.
Cyber Liability & Identity Protection
UHNW families are targeted by sophisticated social engineering, wire fraud, and identity theft at rates far exceeding average consumers. Personal cyber liability coverage, ransomware protection, and identity monitoring services are increasingly essential components of the HNW insurance stack.
Disability Income
For working principals and business owners, own-occupation disability coverage protects income and contribution capacity. Group coverage caps rarely cover UHNW income; individual policies with supplemental riders are typically necessary. We review benefit periods, elimination periods, and rider structures.
Long-Term Care & Elder Care Planning
LTC planning is among the most important and least addressed areas of HNW risk management. We evaluate hybrid life/LTC products, traditional LTC policies, self-insurance feasibility, and elder care coordination services — both for clients and for aging parents within the family system.

Family CFO Services: The Administrative Backbone
The financial administration of a UHNW family — multiple entities, trusts, properties, and advisors — can become a full-time job. Family CFO services centralize and streamline the operational and administrative demands of complex financial lives.
Privacy & Personal Security
High net worth increases exposure to targeted financial crime, social engineering, reputational risks, and in some cases physical security considerations. A comprehensive security posture requires coordination across several disciplines.
Cybersecurity & Digital Privacy
- Password management and multi-factor authentication protocols
- Email security and anti-phishing measures
- Social engineering awareness training for family and staff
- Dark web monitoring for personal information exposure
- Wire transfer verification protocols to prevent CEO fraud
- Cyber liability insurance coordination
Physical & Reputational Privacy
- Public records and online information audit
- Data removal and opt-out services for data brokers
- Property ownership privacy (trusts, LLCs)
- Travel security protocols for international travel
- Personal protection consultation and specialist referral
- Reputational risk awareness for public-facing family members
Protect What Your Portfolio Can’t Protect
The risks that threaten UHNW families most often come from outside the portfolio — uninsured exposures, cyber vulnerabilities, administrative failures, and digital assets without a succession plan. Start with a stewardship audit.
Clexperus coordinates stewardship services alongside specialist insurance advisors, cybersecurity professionals, and estate counsel. We do not provide insurance underwriting, legal drafting, or physical security services directly.
Insurance Architecture for UHNW Families
Most wealth management relationships never address insurance comprehensively. We review every layer: personal liability, property, cyber, life, disability, long-term care, and specialty lines for collectibles, aviation, or marine — structured as a coherent whole, not a collection of separately purchased policies.
Privacy & Security That Scales With Your Profile
High net worth increases exposure to targeted fraud, social engineering, and physical security risks. We coordinate the privacy and security infrastructure appropriate to your family's profile — from cybersecurity protocols to reputational risk management and personal protection advisory.
Digital Asset Planning
Cryptocurrency, online accounts, digital business interests, and subscription-based assets require specific planning to ensure your fiduciaries can access, manage, and transfer them. We help families build digital asset inventories and succession plans that comply with RUFADAA and your estate plan.
The best-managed portfolio can be undone by a single uninsured risk. Close the gaps.

How We Coordinate Lifestyle Services
Clexperus does not operate as a traditional concierge subscription service. Instead, we maintain a curated network of vetted specialists — estate managers, travel advisors, education consultants, health advocates, and security experts — and serve as the trusted coordinator who connects your family to the right resource at the right time. Our incentive is always aligned with yours: we do not receive referral fees from vendors, and we recommend providers solely on the basis of quality and fit for your family’s needs.
Start with a Stewardship Audit
A 45-minute call to review your current insurance coverage, digital asset planning, household administration, and lifestyle coordination gaps — and identify where the most important risks are unaddressed.
Family Stewardship & Lifestyle — Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions families ask about insurance coverage gaps, digital asset planning, privacy risk, and how stewardship services are coordinated alongside financial planning.
The $1M personal umbrella policy that satisfies most consumers is typically inadequate for UHNW families. Coverage needs increase with wealth visibility, social media presence, real property holdings, household employees, and the number of vehicles and watercraft in the family.
We evaluate umbrella needs based on:
- Total net worth and visible wealth
- Professional exposures (board memberships, company ownership)
- Number and age of drivers in the household
- Recreational activities (aviation, boating, equestrian)
- Household employees and domestic workers
$5M–$10M of umbrella coverage is common for families in the $5M–$20M net worth range. Above $20M, we often see $15M–$25M+ umbrella layers built through excess liability towers. Critically, we also ensure the underlying auto and homeowner policies meet the umbrella carrier's minimum threshold — a common gap that can render the umbrella void.
RUFADAA (the Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act) governs the authority of trustees, executors, agents under power of attorney, and guardians to access digital accounts and assets after incapacity or death. As of 2024, 47 states have adopted RUFADAA or similar legislation.
Without proper RUFADAA planning, a fiduciary may be denied access to:
- Email accounts containing important financial communications
- Online brokerage and bank accounts with digital-only access
- Cryptocurrency wallets and exchange accounts
- Online businesses and revenue-generating digital properties
- Cloud storage containing important documents and family records
RUFADAA planning requires three elements: (1) express language in your will, trust, and power of attorney authorizing your fiduciaries to access digital assets; (2) updated online account settings (Google Inactive Account Manager, Apple Legacy Contact, Facebook Legacy Contact) that grant authorized access; and (3) a documented digital asset inventory in a secure, accessible location. We help families build all three components.
UHNW families are increasingly targeted by sophisticated wire fraud schemes, often involving compromised email accounts (Business Email Compromise/BEC) or social engineering attacks that impersonate advisors, attorneys, or family members. The FBI reports billions in annual losses from these schemes.
Protective measures we coordinate:
- Wire verification protocol: Any wire transfer request — regardless of apparent source — must be verbally confirmed via a previously established phone number. No exceptions. Not email reply, not text message.
- Email security hardening: MFA on all financial and email accounts. DMARC/DKIM for family email domains. Regular phishing simulation training for family and staff.
- Bank and custodian authentication setup: Security codes, voice verification, and transaction limits at the custodian level
- Cyber liability insurance: Coverage for financial losses from cyber crime and wire fraud is available as an add-on rider or standalone policy
- Staff and advisor security briefings: Household staff are common entry points; coordination with estate managers and household staff on social engineering risks
Elder care planning is one of the most emotionally and logistically complex challenges families face — and one that most financial advisors are not equipped to address comprehensively. We help families prepare for aging parents in several ways:
- Long-term care insurance review: Is existing coverage adequate? If no coverage exists, what self-insurance capacity is available? Are hybrid life/LTC products appropriate?
- Legal document review: Durable power of attorney, healthcare directive, and HIPAA authorizations for parents — are they current and operable?
- Geriatric care manager referrals: Independent patient advocates who coordinate medical care across providers and facilities
- Senior housing and care continuum guidance: From independent living to memory care — understanding options and costs before a crisis
- Financial capacity monitoring: Systems to detect financial exploitation and cognitive decline before they cause irreversible harm
- Estate coordination: Ensuring parents' estate plans are coordinated with the family's overall legacy plan
It depends on the complexity of your household operations. For families with one or two residences and a relatively simple household staff structure, family office coordination is often sufficient — we serve as the point of contact for vendors, insurance, and administrative oversight.
For families with multiple complex properties, extensive household staff, significant art or collectibles, or aviation and marine assets, a dedicated estate manager (often called a household manager or chief of staff) typically makes sense. An estate manager handles day-to-day operations directly; the family office provides the financial oversight, insurance architecture, and vendor vetting that an estate manager often lacks.
We help families determine which model fits their complexity and, when appropriate, provide referrals to experienced estate managers who have worked with UHNW households. The two roles complement each other rather than compete.
